What makes our Cookies & Cream different
The base is our real vanilla ice cream, made from a custard cooked from scratch with organic New Zealand milk and cream. Chocolate cookie crumb runs all the way through it, so you get crunchy pieces and soft, cookie-flecked ice cream in the same spoonful. The cookie crumb contains wheat and soy, which is why this flavour is marked as containing gluten.
A flavour with a long history
Cookies and cream is a flavour that began in the United States, and several companies have claimed to have invented it. Whoever got there first, the combination of vanilla and chocolate cookie has become a favourite around the world, including in our freezer.
Ways to serve it
Affogato: pour a hot shot of espresso over a scoop. Our guide to making affogato at home has the method.
Yes. The chocolate cookie pieces are made with wheat flour, so Cookies & Cream contains gluten. If you need a gluten-free option, most of our plain ice creams such as Vanilla, Mint Chip and Smokey Pokey are made without gluten. Check the allergen table and your tub's label.
Is Cookies & Cream egg free?
The ingredients we last published for Cookies & Cream do not list egg: the base is organic milk and cream with sugar, and the cookie crumb does not contain egg. Recipes can change, so please check the label on your tub if you have an egg allergy.
What goes well with Cookies & Cream ice cream?
It works beautifully in an affogato, sandwiched between two soft chocolate cookies, or blended into a thick milkshake with cold milk. For a quick dessert, serve a scoop beside warm brownies or chocolate cake and let it melt slightly before eating.
